Hello,

My name is Amarachi Jacinth Anya. I love this introduction — if you have seen or met me on any other platform, you’re welcome :).

I would keep this brief as I sit down on the unmatching wooden plush seat next to the door of my bedroom. I am starting a 25 Day ‘activity’ called ‘Write Your Day’ starting on the 6th of June.

As a writer of fiction, I believe this activity could really help with ‘imagery’ in writing.

Imagine this. Bami. Our protagonist. Breaking eggs for breakfast. She had forgotten she left the water on the burner for a good 10 minutes before rushing into the kitchen to find out that the water had already boiled. She takes it out of the burner and opens the drawer to get the frying pan. She rinses it before placing it on the burner because cockroaches — we don’t want any infection now, do we? She goes to where the eggs are placed and she breaks them into a bowl one after the other. With every egg she breaks, she prays, “Lord, I hope this one isn’t spoilt…”

I’m not going forward with that. But that was just a snippet of what my morning was like today. I’m Bami — technically, I’m Amarachi, but you get where I’m headed. P.S. Spoiler. One egg broke and spilled all over.

So, that’s ‘Write Your Day.’ You write a moment in your day (as vividly as you can remember it) in any literature form of your choice, either through poetry, in a fantasy world, or even as an autobiography.

I wanted to do this on my own, but what fun would that be? So, hello, my fellow writers; feel welcome to join in and share with other fellow writers. You can post on whatever platform suits you best, and when you post, use the Hashtag #WYDwithAmarachi.

Double entendre! Haha. What you doing with Amarachi? What you doing today? You’re writing your day today!

Thank you for being amazing, and I would see you on the 6th of June with My “Write Your Day” upload. Before then, catch me on YouTube, Twitter and Instagram.

Bye-bye,

Amarachi.
